Obituary George Albert Aitken, 80, resident of NHC-Greenwood, widower of Park Crymes Aitken, passed away, Monday, April 20, 2020. Born May 20, 1939 in Rio De Janeiro to the late William Aitken and Anna Marie Collins Aitken. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Aitken was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are a brother, William Aitken and wife Alba Maria, of Brazil; nieces, Alba and Rebecca, of Brazil, Melissa Aitken, of Miami, FL and Elizabeth Aitken, of Dallas, TX; nephew, Joel Aitken, of Miami, FL; cousins, Mary Catherine Leary and Leslie Leary and wife Eva, of Greenwood and James Leary and wife Glenda, of Simpsonville, SC. Private graveside services will be held Thursday at Edgewood Cemetery with Father Timothy Tebalt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus, 915 Mathis Road, Greenwood, SC 29649.
