Galiher, 71, of Davenport, IA, formerly of Marion, IA died at his residence on Monday, March 16, 2020 following a lengthy illness. At the family’s request there will be no additional visitation or services at this time. Gary Dean Galiher was born on August 21, 1948 in rural Portsmouth, IA, the son of John and Lois (Lasher) Galiher. After graduating from high school he moved to Marion, IA where he met his wife while playing pool at a local pool hall. On April 21, 1971 he married Nancy Sue Fairbanks in Marion. In earlier years Mr. Galiher worked in the metal plating business and was also a part owner and mechanic at Ray’s Auto Service in Marion. He spent most of his later years working for the Milwaukee Railroad as a Agent Operator. Gary enjoyed golfing, bowling, and most especially playing pool. Surviving members of the family include – his Wife: Nancy of Davenport; a Daughter: Shannon Madison of Davenport; 2 Sisters: Janet (Mike) and Deborah (Charlie); 3 Brothers: Derald (Suzanne), Richard (Karen), and Bill (Patsy); and 2 Granddaughters: Ashley and Alicia. Memorials may be made to the family.
