INGALLS – Frank A. Hudson Jr., age 87, of Ingalls, entered into everlasting peace with the Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Westminster Village North. He was born in Indianapolis on December 18, 1932 to the late Frank Sr. and Frances (Westfall) Hudson. He graduated from Lapel High School in 1952 before enlisting in the US Navy. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1952-1956 as an aviation electrician. He was awarded the National Defense Medal for serving during the Korean War. Frank married his wife of 59 years, Carolyn (Bland), on July 12, 1961. He worked in mechanical and electrical maintenance for most of his life. Frank enjoyed listening to music and got the most joy out of trying to make people smile by singing a song, sharing a rhyme or telling a joke. He enjoyed weekly bingo and church services at Westminster and remained a lifelong Purdue basketball fan. He was a member of the VFW and deeply proud of his fellow veterans. Most of all, Frank loved and was loved by his family. Frank is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Bland) Hudson of Fortville; children, Jeffrey Hudson of Fortville, Jerry Hudson of Fortville, and Cathy (Timothy) Ackerman of Gurnee, IL; and two grandsons, Lucas and Jacob Ackerman. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lou Gray; and brother, Jack Hudson. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a public memorial with military honors will be held at a later date. Private visitation for the immediate family will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd, at Erlewein Mortuary in Fortville. A private graveside service will follow at his resting place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville. Chaplain Worth Hartman will be officiating.
