Michella, age 92 died peacefully in his sleep at his home on April 14, 2020. Frank was a life-long resident of West Haverstraw. Frank served in the Navy for two years during World War II. He married the love of his life, Helen Piperato on March 28, 1948 and celebrated 68 years of marriage. He is survived by his loving daughter, Gail M. and son-in-law Billy Bishop and many nieces, nephews and many other loving family members. Frank was a parishioner of St. Peters and St. Mary’s Church. Frank in his early years enjoyed bowling and ran the “Golden Pins Bowling Tournament” for several years at Hi Tor Lanes. His was active in the Italian American Club and was a member for over 75 years. He enjoyed watching the horse races and playing golf. He had two hole-in-ones, the second one at the age of 90. He enjoyed life and was very grateful for his 92 years of living. A private viewing will be held at George M. Holt Funeral Home on Monday, April 20, 2020. Interment will follow at the Frederick Loescher Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Brick Church Road, New Hempstead, NY 10977. Memorial donations in loving memory of Frank J. Michella may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the charity of your choice.
