Obituary Ellen was born on July 8, 1939 to Robert and Mary Lou Alston in Kingstree, S.C. Sister departed life at Beacon Place-Hospice at Greensboro on April 22, 2020 after a brief illness. Sister grow up in Trio-Hemingway, SC where she attended school. In her early young adult life, she helped raise and provide for her sibling in SC while her mother moved to Greensboro to obtain a better future for her family. Sister lived and worked in NY as a Housekeeper for short period before returning to Greensboro due to illness. Her service to Lord early in life was being an Usher at St. Phillips AME Zion Church and later supporting other ministries at Church of Repentance until her sickness would not allow. She was joined in marriage to Joe Louis Warren on August 15, 1961 until his death, no children from union. Although she did not have any biology children, she raised two nephews: Rodney Williamson Sr. and LeTron Tyson as her sons. Three grandchildren; Michaela Williamson, Rodney Williamson, Jr, and Asia Tyson, and two greatgrandchildren of Greensboro, NC. She is presided in death by father and mother; Robert and Mary Alston, son LeTron Tyson, brothers; James Daniels, Richard, and Joseph Alston. She leaves to mourn her loss sisters; Annie L. Fox, Pearlie (Bob) Patterson, Barbara (Joseph) Washington all of Greensboro, NC, brothers; Jimmie Alston, of Andrews, SC, John (Sylvia) Alston of Fulton, Ga, Nathaniel (Caroline) Alston of Killen, TX, Bud Alston and Rudy (Ashley) Alston of Greensboro, NC, Warren sisters-in-law; Bobbie, Pearl, Alberta and Liza all of Andrew, SC. In addition of a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends to cherish her memories. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Beacon Place-Hospice of Greensboro for the special care and support they provided to Ellen and her family. Thank you to everyone that may have called, sent a card, or just whisper a pray for the family during the time of illness and loss of our dear Sister. May God Bless you all. A public visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM Monday April 27, 2020 at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service. Due to Covid-19 (Corona Virus) only 10 people at a time will be allowed in the building. Thanks for understand during this difficult time. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
