Elizabeth Ann Hull Olson February 19, 1935 – April 22, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Elizabeth Ann Hull Olson, 85, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 peacefully at home. Born February 19, 1935 in Jersey City, she attended school in Union, New Jersey before moving to Allentown in 1950. She graduated from Allentown High School in 1953 and from Bucknell University in 1957. While at Bucknell, she met her husband of 62 years, Sidney M. Olson, and was a member of Phi Mu sorority, Delta Mu Delta economics honorary society, women’s glee club and mixed chorus. Elizabeth was a member of the Allentown Presbyterian Church since 1950. She worked in a variety of positions as a teacher, business owner and for over 20 years at McGraw-Hill in Hightstown, both in the magazine and book divisions. Daughter of the late Ellis Foster Hull, Jr. and Helen Naylor Hull, she is survived by her husband, Sidney; two daughters, Katharyn Olson of Basking Ridge, New Jersey and Karen Manniso and her husband, Mark, of Newark, Delaware; four grandchildren (who were the greatest of joys – Julianna Manniso of Washington, D.C., Teresa Giotto (and her husband, Justin) of Newark, Delaware, Emma Manniso of Baltimore, Maryland and David Olson of Basking Ridge, New Jersey); her cousin, Nancy Nicholson, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; and many extended family members and dear friends. The family wishes to thank her wonderful caregivers, Michele Bush and Pauline Smith. A private burial will be held in Allentown Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date, to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allentown Presbyterian Church, the Allentown Public Library, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or to organizations supporting first responders and those in need due to the current pandemic.
