Obituary Edward P. Foy of Chesaning passed away Thursday afternoon, April 2, 2020 at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. His age was 81 years. Edward was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on December 4, 1938, a son of Howard and Neva (Mills) Foy. He was a US Army Veteran, having proudly served during the Vietnam Era. He was united in marriage to Joyce Gross on June 27, 1997 and they have lived in Chesaning for the last 23 years. Ed served in many capacities at UAW Local #599 in Region 1C. He hired into Buick Foundry in 1963 and served as shop representative, alternate Committee Man in the foundry, and then Committee Man. He was put on staff by Stan Marchell and became a Servicing Rep and then Education Director for the region. He eventually retired as Cal Rapson’s Assistant Director of UAW in Region 1C. Ed was a member of St. Peter Parish Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #212. He loved his German Shepherds, Magnum and Maverick. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Those left to cherish Edward’s memory include his beloved wife, Joyce; children, Michael (Cindy) Foy of Grand Blanc, Jana Foy of Cape Coral, Florida, Kimberly Beckman of Batchawana, Ontario, Canada, and Jeffry (Lynette) Gross of Fountain Hills, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Elsa Foy of Cape Coral, Florida; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Robert (Verda) Foy of Goodrich; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Foy, one brother, and two sisters. A memorial service will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post #212 of Chesaning.
