Edmund “Sonny”‘s Obituary ANSONIA: Edmund B. “Sonny” Dojnia Jr., age 84, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of April 19, 2020, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Tucker Dojnia. Sonny was born at home in Ansonia on September 29, 1935, son of the late Edmund B. Dojnia Sr. and Mildred Davies Dojnia. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed as an automobile detailer for the former Healey Ford in Ansonia and later for Dick’s Auto Clean in Derby until his retirement. In addition to his wife Patricia, he leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Robert Dojnia, a daughter, Cynthia “Chin” Dojnia, of Ansonia, sisters, Marion Drewelus (Walter) and Isabella Dobbins, of Seymour, grandchildren, Jessica Dojnia, Sean Dojnia, Ryan Turner and Courtney Turner of Ansonia and Timothy Dojnia, Scott Dojnia and Christopher Dojnia of Maine, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, John A. Dojnia and Stanley “Buddy” Dojnia, a sister, Shirley Dunne and best friends, Frank Stanley, Kenneth Tinney and Richard Lowe. Per the current health guidelines, Sonny’s funeral will be private with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
