Earl “Spurry” Rudolph Tschirhart May 15, 1931 – April 28, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Earl “Spurry” Rudolph Tschirhart, of San Antonio, passed away on April 28, 2020 at the age of 88 years. He was born May 15, 1931 in Castroville, Texas to Rudolph J. Tschirhart and Clara Lucia Mann Tschirhart. Spurry graduated from St. Louis High School in 1949. On December 27, 1950, he entered the United State Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. He worked with ITT Building Services and Pritchard Building Services. On May 16, 1964, he married Dorothy Jeanette Smith at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Spurry loved to play sports. As a young child, Earl inherited his nickname “Spurry” from his father, Rudolph, for their shared love of riding horses. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Tschirhart of San Antonio; children, Raelene Tschirhart of San Antonio, Bryan Tschirhart (Loraine) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mark Tschirhart (Cindy) of San Antonio, Steven Tschirhart (Letty) of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jade Tschirhart, Tyler Tschirhart, Cory Tschirhart, Kristen Tschirhart and Cody Tschirhart; great-grandchildren, Tanner Hernandez and Lilith Aguilar; siblings, Lynn Tschirhart (Beverly) of Castroville, Ida Louise Stein of Castroville, Mike Tschirhart (Sylvia) of Castroville; brother-in-law, Tommy Smith (Peggy) of Hondo. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Clara Tschirhart; brother, Ferdinand Tschirhart; sister-in-law, Betty Tschirhart; brother-in-law, Julius Stein. Public Visitation will be Monday, May 4, 2020 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Due to Social Gathering Restrictions, services will be private for family only. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
