Donald’s Obituary Donald M. Smith Jr., 84, formerly of Agawam died peacefully Friday afternoon in Venice, FL. Donald was born and raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School where he was the class treasurer and lived in Agawam for many years before retiring to Northport, FL. He served in the United States Army and after his discharge, used his veteran’s benefits to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from A.I.C. He owned National Aerospace Co. in Agawam. Donald was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He leaves his wife Lita L. (Hadley) Smith; three children and their significant others, Donald M. Smith III and Lizabeth Cyr, Lita and David Adams and Thomas O. Smith and Barbara Sawatis. He also leaves a sister Sandra Northup and six grandchildren, Sean Smith, Henry Adams, Neal Smith, Abigail Adams, Hannah Cyr and Caleb Cyr. Visiting hours will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday from 10:00 – 11:00am with a private burial in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
