On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, Donald F. Whitlow, passed away peacefully in his sleep from complications of dementia at the age of 81. Don was born on January 5, 1939 in Roanoke, VA to Ken and Marie “Dolly” Whitlow and is the oldest of their three boys. Don had a long and successful career as an architect in both commercial and residential design and in residential construction He also had a lifelong passion for music, particularly jazz and blues, and was a gifted piano player. He could always entertain and captivate family and friends with his playing, a gift that stayed with him – along with his sense of humor and kind spirit – even through his struggle with dementia. Don was preceded in death by Veronika, his loving wife of 51 years and the mother of their children. He is survived by his daughters, Alison, Rhedyn and Erin, his two brothers, Ronald and Jonathan, and all his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Don will be buried at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville, TN. A graveside service will be scheduled at a future time. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mr. Donald F.
