Catherine’s Obituary Catherine Holden Forrester acquired her crown at Heritage Hall East on April 24, 2020 with complications from COVID-19. Catherine was born on April 21, 1930 to the late Eveline Holden and Robert Forrester in Brunswick, GA. She attended public school in Pennick, GA and was a graduate of Risley High School in Brunswick. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Zion Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member. Catherine was united in matrimony with Ray Nobles in 1949. In 1966, Catherine moved to Springfield, MA where she joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church. During this time, she worked at Arrow Elastic as a seamstress for 40 years and is preceded by her companion, Moses Jackson. Catherine had a passion for her family and loved to be with people. She enjoyed spending time on her rocking chair in the porch with a glazed donut in her hand. She was usually found doing word searches or cooking in the kitchen to spread her love through food. Catherine was a true follower of Christ and lived her life to exemplify compassion. She was known for her selflessness, open heart, and generosity. Catherine was preceded in death by her sisters – Maryland Wilcox, Evelyn Halloway, Clementine Knight, Priscilla Forrester, Joanna Forrester – brothers – Henry Holden, William Holden, Spencer Holden, Sylvestor Holden, Jonathan Forrester – and children – Geraldine Nobles, Eddie Forrester, and Robert Forrester. Catherine leaves her daughter Lynn Johnson (James), sisters Barbara Anderson, Rose Gamble (Carl), and daughter-in-law Sukhui Forrester to cherish her memory. She is also survived by her grandchildren – Eddie, Dochea (Ken), Linda, Natalia, Robert, Myron (JC), Devon, Jaeyoon, Heesun, Jaeyeun, Jisun, Sooji – great grandchildren – Jaelyn, Kennedy, Grace, Analysse, Christian, Julia, Raijan, Jett, Jerdon – and great-great-grandchildren – Zavien and Zaniya. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hall East in Agawam and Baystate Hospice for her care during her final days. Due to restrictions of COVID-19, all services will be private.
