Carl Copeland, Jr. of Grand Prairie, Texas April 1, 1929 – April 1, 2020 Carl Copeland, Jr., 91, a long-time resident of Grand Prairie, died Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Medical City Medical Center in Arlington. Born April 1, 1929 in Hope, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Carl Copeland, Sr. and Ruby Lee Kellar Copeland. He served in the U S Army and U S Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Marjorie Ellen Page August 5, 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He retired from the U S Postal Service and was a member of Marshall Drive Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Copeland, Sr. and Ruby Copeland; a sister Virginia Lee Woods; a brother Larry Copeland; and his wife Marjorie “Margie” Copeland in 2002. Survivors include his daughter Karen Clower and husband Steve and their sons, Brett Clower and Chase Clower; his daughter Janet Clemens and husband Danny and their daughters, Kara Smith and husband Tim and Dani Lewis and husband Bobby; four great grandchildren Landry Smith, Hayden Smith, Brody Lewis, Brooklynn Lewis; three nephews and four nieces. He was retired for more years than he worked. He had a love of cruises, singing karaoke, his Arkansas Razorbacks and the City by the Bay, San Francisco where he truly left his heart. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service will be held. A public memorial service will be announced when the pandemic restrictions are lifted.
