Barbara’s Obituary Barbara A. Spirydowski, cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away March 28, 2020 following a three-month battle with cancer. She was 78 years old. A native and lifelong resident of Housatonic, Barbara was born May 1, 1941 in Great Barrington, MA the daughter of Frank and Mary Klahn Love. Following the death of her mother in 1947 she was raised by her grandmother Anna Buckbee Klahn, Aunt Louise Funk and Uncle George Funk. She was a Communicant of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Housatonic. Barbara is survived by her children, Anna McDermott of Stockbridge, MA, Linda Wolford (Jim) of Becket, MA, Carol Ryan (Bill) of Pittsfield, MA, Barbara-Jean Spirydowski-Fowler (Rob) of Pittsfield, MA, Mary Reynolds (Mark) of Great Barrington, Charles Spirydowski (Jennifer) of Housatonic, MA and Nancy Spirydowski (Clarke) of Housatonic, MA, as well as 13 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings, Frank Love, Mary Errichetto, Carol Handlowich, Katherine LaRose, Rosemarie Errichetto and Ronald Love as well as her cousin, that was more like her brother, William Funk whom she was raised with. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Charles S. Spirydowski, who died on December 7, 2000. The couple was married on September 14, 1957 in Richmond, MA. She was also predeceased by her daughter Donna Spirydowski, granddaughter Christina Ryan, grandson Joshua Wolford and son-in-law Douglas McDermott. Due to the current circumstances with COVID-19 a private burial was held at St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic. A funeral Mass will be held at a later date.
