Annice “Joy” Gentry March 04, 1937 – April 23, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Annice “Joy” Gentry, 83, of Lebanon, passed away Apr. 23, 2020, at Carmel Health and Living Community. Joy was born March 4, 1937, in Manchester, TN, a daughter of the late Meph and Justine (Sanders) Medford. She married Frank Gentry on May 16, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2014. Joy graduated from Avon High School in 1955. She worked as a secretary at the New Brunswick Church of Christ for many years. She also worked hard and lovingly as a mother and a farmer’s wife. Joy was a proud survivor of breast cancer. She loved her grandbabies. Joy also enjoyed gardening and landscaping. Survivors include her daughters, Leanna (Kevin) Miller of Lebanon and Melinda Smith of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Melissa (Ryan) Wood, Bailee and Braxton Smith, Travis (Amanda) Miller, Brandon (Jessica) Miller, Mitch Gentry, and Brayton Smith; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Joy was preceded in death by her son, Wendell Gentry and six brothers. A private graveside service will be held Sat., Apr. 25, 2020, at Old Union cemetery in Jamestown. Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, Lebanon, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
