Anne Kemp Embry Augusta, GA- Anne Kemp Embry died peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 14, 2020. She was born Ophelia Anne Kemp on May 25, 1944 to John Richard (Dick) Kemp and Ophelia Munroe Kemp in Clanton, AL. She was a graduate of the University of Montevallo. On August 28, 1966 she married Harry Alston Embry. Always seeking to provide for others’ needs above her own, Anne exemplified selflessness. A devoted wife and mother, she took great joy in providing a loving home for her family. She was an avid volunteer for anyone who needed help. She was a talented gardener and a curious and voracious reader. An exceptionally gifted musician, Anne was the organist at St. Paul Methodist Church in Columbus, GA for 24 years. She exuded an inner grace which was equally matched by her external beauty. We take comfort knowing she is at peace, and she will forever live in our hearts. Survivors include her husband Harry, her children Dr. Katherine Anna Embry, Richard Graves Embry, and Nancy Erin Embry Davis (Mike), her brother John Richard Kemp, and five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother Dr. James Thomas (Tom) Kemp and by her parents. Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
