Anne Geraldine Morris (Gerry) passed away on April 3, 2020 in New York City. Born on August 12, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio, Gerry attended Ohio State University where she graduated with a degree in Education in 1951. After moving to New York City, Gerry went on to earn a Master of Arts in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Fordham University. While working in education she conceived and directed Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s first hospital based program to show mothers how to help preschoolers learn as part of well-baby care. In 1980, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work as a Faculty Fellow for the Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Transportation. In 1982, she returned to New York City as Deputy Director Fund Raising for the Committee to Re-elect Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. After the election she refocused her career to work in the field of Logistics and Transportation, developing programs and research studies for City University of New York and Baruch College. Gerry is survived by her nephews and nieces, Steven Tavoso, Donna Tavoso and Richard & Leanne Tavoso along with her 7 great nephews and niece – Andrew, Joseph, Bobby, Travis, Trevor, Ariana and Cody Tavoso.
