Angelina’s Obituary Angelina Santana de Rosario, 91, of Asheboro left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, April 24, 2020, with her grandson, Pastor Ricardo Rosario by her side. Mrs. Rosario was born on the 20th of October, 1928, the daughter of Adolfo Santana and Bonifacia Alicea. Angelina was a native of Puerto Rico from Comerío, a municipality on the island. At the tender age of 15, Angelina accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and began her lifelong calling as a missionary throughout the villages of Puerto Rico. In her early young adulthood, she met Roman Rosario, a missionary and reverend, and they married and had six children. Angelina left her beloved island of Puerto Rico in 1950 and during her time in the United States was a resident of Chicago, IL; Cutler Ridge, FL; Mansfield, TX; and her final resting place, Asheboro, NC. Angelina found her purpose and calling early in life and celebrated 76 years of being in ministry. Her greatest joy was loving others and allowing God’s love to flow through her. Her spiritual children and grandchildren span continents and generations, and to measure the impact she had throughout her journey on earth is not possible. Angelina enjoyed crocheting, writing letters, and reciting poetry. Anyone who came in contact with her couldn’t help but smile because she brought joy to all. In addition to her parents, Angelina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Roman Rosario, and her twin sons whom she missed every day of her life, Joel Rosario and Samuel Rosario. She is survived by her sister, Marcelina Santana; her children, Moises Rosario (Emily Rosario), Ruth R. Mercado (Angel L. Mercado), Daniel Rosario (Maria Rosario) and Loida Rosario; her grandchildren, Ricardo M. Rosario (Crisalia Rosario), Lynette R. Mercado, Liana R. Mercado, Liza R. Solares (Nelson Solares), Angel L. Mercado Jr. (Lisa Mercado), Stephanie M. Rosario, Melissa C. Rosario, Laiza S. Torres, Marc A. Torres and Tiffany Rosario; and her great-grandchildren, Jylene A. Gonzalez, Ricardo M. Rosario Jr., Hannah R. Santiago, Elizabeth C. Rosario, Kayleann Gonzalez, Luke I. Solares, Luis I. Mercado, Edwin J. Gonzalez, Matthew E. Santiago, Sara V. Rosario, Abigail Mercado, Nya L. Solares, Izabella R. Santiago, Meagan L. Mercado, Sophia A. Santiago, Ethan M. Mercado, Ezekiel L. Mercado and Joshua A. Diaz. Due to COVID-19, the family will share a virtual celebration of life on Monday, April 27th at 10 am (EST) hosted at m.youtube.com/channel/UCwVrVJfOI-iSO47BnzBcoAg. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Angie’s Widows, an initiative that she began prior to graduation to heaven. Donations can be made by texting ANGIE to 773-823-0216.
