Sophie’s Obituary Sophie Fitek Baj entered into eternal rest on March 15, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Sophie was filled with Love and Faith. She was a strong advocate of the East Side of Buffalo. Devoting many years to volunteering for numerous organizations across Western New York. Survived by her loving husband Carl Baj. Devoted mother of Aniela (Myo) Thant and Adam (Tess) Baj. Loving grandmother of Aleksandra Thant, Augustyna Thant and Alfred Thant and her grandpups Pearl and Jerry. Dearest sister of Henry Fitek and Joanne Kincaide. Dear friend of Rosie Weidner, Tom Leightner, Judy Leightner and Diane Savateri. Predeceased by her parents Henry and Eleonora Fitek. Services were held privately on March 19, 2020 at St. John Kanty Church, in Buffalo, NY. A Celebration of Sophie’s Life will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of Father Baker Manor for the utmost care and love they provided to their Wife, Mother and Grandmother over the past 5 years. They thank everyone for allowing them the ability to create memories that will last forever. Memorials may be made in Sophie’s name to Father Baker Manor. Burial took place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, NY. Read More
