It is with profound sadness that the family of Sheryl Ann Shields Bailey announces her untimely passing at her home in Summerville, SC on March 13, 2020. She is survived by two daughters, Raven Bailey of North Charleston, SC and Rachel Ambroise of Summerville, SC. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Ed Wenz, of Charleston, SC; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Robben Daw, of Mascoutah, IL; and a sister-in-law, Renee Shields, of Irmo, SC. Additionally, she had 4 nieces (Kristi, Kimberly, Jessica and Gena), 2 nephews (Jimmy and Kevin) and 5 great-nieces (Aidan, Alexis, Kaitlynn, Rileigh and Haley). Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ivy Shields of Goose Creek, SC and her brother Robert Shields of Irmo, SC. Sheryl was born in Lowell, MA on February 7, 1962. She grew up in Goose Creek, SC and attended primary and secondary schools there. She went on to attend college and completed her masters degree in special education at The Citadel. She was a teacher for several years in both Charleston county and Florence county schools. Sheryl never met a stranger and had a caring and loving heart for all creatures great and small. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved attending worship service. She will be greatly missed by her family as well as her many friends in SC and beyond. Final arrangements are being handled by Charleston Cremation Center and Funeral Home. Due to current health advisories, memorial services will not be held at this time and will be announced at a later date.
