Santos’ Obituary Santos Maldonado, Jr., 89, of Groves, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born on May 27, 1930 to his parents, Santos Maldonado, Sr. and Octavia DeLaGarza Maldonado in Port Arthur, Texas. Santos was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1950. He retired as an operator with Great Lakes Carbon after 25 years of service. Santos was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur. He was preceded in death by his parents, his three siblings, Dolores Ramirez, Gus Maldonado and Roy Maldonado and his loving wife, Concepcion “Connie” Maldonado. He is survived by his two sons, Santos Maldonado III of Groves, Phillip Maldonado and his wife, Noelle of Nederland and one grandson, Zander Maldonado along with several nieces and nephews. Due to the Coronavirus-19 and the limited number of people at a gathering, family will have a Memorial Mass at a later date.
