He was born on February 11, 1933 to Louis and Elva Pearson in Choteau, Montana, the oldest of 11 children. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alene Miller Pearson, 6 children; LaNae (Phil) Downs, Todd (Debbie) Pearson, Ryan (Judi) Pearson, Lisa (John) Peterson, Collette Shaw, Lance (Debra) Pearson, 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Robert served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He was in basic training when the Korean War ended and was reassigned to Germany, where he drove for a Colonel. He enjoyed traveling to different cities in Europe on his days off. Robert graduated from Brigham Young University in 1965 with a degree in Elementary Education and taught for 10 years. Farming was his passion and he left teaching to farm with his brothers. They had a dairy farm and did dryland farming. Robert was the mechanic on the farm and kept all the equipment running. Robert was the oldest of 11 children and his siblings talk about him being a great leader, his brand-new Chevrolet, and about him being a wonderful big brother. Robert and Alene lived in Montana until 2005, when they decided to move to Utah to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In his later years, he served at the Bishop’s Storehouse in Lindon, UT. He went a few times a week and loved his acquaintances that he met there. Robert was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was often seen reading the scriptures in our home and served in many capacities in the church. He loved Montana and looked for any excuse to go back and visit. He was always asking one of his children if we would take him to Montana for one more trip. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private family viewing and graveside service in his honor. Interment will be at Camp Williams in Bluffdale, UT.
