Richard’s Obituary Richard F. Simnick Sr was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 21, 1933 to Raymond and Lucille Simnick and passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 in Rensselaer, Indiana. He was 86 years old. Richard is survived by his wife of 30 plus years, Dawn B. Simnick Whitcomb; his children Richard Simnick, Raymond (Diane) Simnick, Robert Simnick, Ryan Simnick, Kristina (the late Eugene) Kotlowski, Karen (Kenny) Ellis, Kathy Hutchinson, Dawn “Mechelle” Romine and Sherry (Richard) Urbanski; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Ronald Simnick and his parents Raymond Simnick and Lucille Simnick nee Hoff; his Siblings Marion (Bob) Anderson, Raymond (Katherine) Simnick and Clarence (Mary) Simnick, and his former wife Alice Simnick nee Schultz. Richard graduated from Leo High School. He worked for Chromium Mining then worked for Ford Motor Company from 1961 until he retired as a supervisor in 1989. Richard’s hobbies were Stock Car racing at Blue Island’s Raceway Park, fishing, hunting, darts and horse shoes and playing semi-professionally with the Roseland Mustangs.
