Patricia’s Obituary Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Scroggins “Nanny” Gardner will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Revival Temple, Walker, with Reverend David Sterling, Sr. and Reverend Wes Courtney officiating. Interment will follow in Green Oaks Cemetery, Baton Rouge, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale Mrs. Gardner, 86, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Naomi Heights Nursing Home in Alexandria, LA. Mom was born in Camden, Tennessee and as a young child they moved to Columbia, Tennessee. She married L.M. Scroggins and the adventure began that took them to Pensacola, Florida where she first received Jesus Christ. They moved back to Columbia, Tennessee and then finally settled in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where the family began to grow and expand. Mom nurtured her relationship with Jesus Christ and mentored many others in Christ. Only Heavens record could hold all the accomplishments that she had in the Kingdom of God. For the heritage she left us we are extremely thankful. We will miss her and cherish the memories but we know we will see her and all of them again! John 16:22 “Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you”! She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, L.M. Scroggins; her parents, Charlie and Jewel Mitchell; one daughter, Cindy Rushing and two brothers, Mark Byrd and Freddy Byrd. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her husband, Milton Gardner, of South Haven, Mississippi; three sons, Pastor Johnny Scroggins and his wife, Clara, of Sydney, Australia, Ricky Scroggins and his wife, Connie, of Denham Springs, Pastor Jeffrey Scroggins and his wife, Rhonda, of Hineston; two brothers, Harold Mitchell, of Columbia, TN, Hubert Mitchell, of Columbia, TN; two sisters, Peggy Cook, of Denham Springs, Lucinda Williams, of Pensacola, FL; her dearest friend, Janice Joseph; eleven grandchildren, Patricia, Ricki Lynn, Samantha, Rebecca, Tracie, Jennifer, Jacob, Nikki, Doug, Kendra, Ken and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
