Patricia Ann (Patsy) Powell, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to so many, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2020. She was born April 27, 1941 in the Hiram Community in Texas to James William and Opal (Henderson) Green. Patsy was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, her brother, Billy Green, and her beloved husband, Jimmy Joe Powell, who passed on December 25, 2016. All her life, Patsy was a light to others. Her incredible talent for seeing the best in everyone endeared her to so many. The first thing folks noticed about Patsy was her constant smile. The second thing was her continual generosity. There was never a time that she wouldn’t be glad to sit and visit or work to help another in a task or with a need. She worked as an administrative assistant with the Terrell ISD for many years until her retirement where, again, her bubbly and helpful personality was key in supporting many teachers, administrators, parents and students so they could have the best experience in learning. Patsy was also a longtime and devoted member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Terrell and her love for the Lord was demonstrated every day in her love for others. She and her husband, Jimmy, were charter members of the Terrell Boat Club and many memories were made with family and friends fishing, swimming and relaxing. A true Proverbs 31 woman, Patsy will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by her daughter Lori Crow and husband Randy of Kaufman, daughter Lisa Lane and husband Kelly of Terrell, and son Jimmy Jacob Powell of Dallas; grandchildren: Jennifer Matthews and husband Clint of Kaufman, Randi Crow of Kaufman, Rodney Crow and wife Amanda of Kaufman, Katie Lane and Justin Brown of Elmo and Kelsie Frazier and husband Zach of Fate; great grandchildren: Jacie Pfeifer, Emily Matthews, Hayden Matthews, Abby Owen, Rylie Crow, Ransom Crow, Ally Owen, Arry Owen, Barrett Lane Brown, and Zachary Helms; sister, Sue Harker and husband Rob of Midlothian, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. A celebration of Patsy’s life and legacy will be held at a later date at Cornerstone Baptist Church To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Patricia (Patsy) Powell please visit our Sympathy Store.
