Obituary Lewis Paul Dobbins of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation of Warsaw at the age of 93. He was born on March 30, 1926 in Warsaw, Indiana to Iona (Long) Dobbins and John Edward Dobbins. On December 14, 1985 he was married to Nedra Jane (Horn) Dobbins, who survives. Lewis was a 1944 graduate of Warsaw High School and had lived his entire life in the Warsaw area. He worked as the branch manager of the Warsaw area Perfection Biscuit Company (Sunbeam Bread) and retired after 32 years with the company. Never one to stay still, he then worked for the City of Warsaw at Oakwood Cemetery for 18 years, where he enjoyed cutting the grass and never shy at waving to people from the lawn mower. He also served on the Oakwood Cemetery Board of Regents for 22 years, three years with the National Guard, and twelve years on the Warsaw Fire Department as a volunteer. He grew up in the First Brethren Church where he served as custodian for over 25 years, and sang in the choir, he was also the Sunday School superintendent and trustee. Later he became a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church where he served as coffee host for several years. He always had a heart of a servant and he will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Nedra Jane Dobbins (Warsaw, Indiana); son: Michael Eugene Dobbins (Warsaw, Indiana); two step-sons: Tony Sainer (Pierceton, Indiana); and Larry Sainer (Warsaw, Indiana); and one step-daughter: Terri Mumford (Silver Lake, Indiana); ten step-grandchildren and twenty two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jeannette, brother, Carl, and his step-son, Bill Sainer. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. Lewis’ life will be celebrated with a service immediately following visitation at 5:00 pm. officiated by Dan Gray. Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw. Memorial donations may be designated to Grace College, 200 Seminary Drive, Winona Lake, Indiana 46590 and would be appreciated by the family.
