Juan’s Obituary Juan “John” Guadalupe Espinosa passed away unexpectedly at the age of 68 due to natural causes in his sleep at home on Friday, February 28th. Juan is survived by wife, Carmen Espinosa of 48 years; his children, Juan R (Rhonda), Michael (Abbi), Teresa Heide (Mike), Christina Espinosa; siblings, Jose Jr, Idolina, Humberto, Jorge, Rogelio, Omar, Maria, Radalberto Trevino; grandchildren Hailey, Cameron, Alex, Zoie, Ashlee, Kati, Jaden, Lola, and Alyssa. He is preceded in death by his parents Paula Durate, Reynaldo Espinosa, stepdad Jose Trevino and father-in-law Candelario Constante. Juan was born on March 10th, 1952 in La Grulla, Texas to Paula Durate and Reynaldo Espinosa. Juan graduated from Clackamas Community College in 1974 with an Associate’s degree. Juan married Carmen Constante, his high school sweetheart in 1971. After moving to Woodburn, Juan began working as an auto mechanic in Portland, for Les Schwab, Fiber Fab, and worked over 23 years as the caretaker and manager of St. Luke’s Cemetery. Over the years, the couple welcomed 4 children into their home and Juan set about teaching them many skills like working on cars, fixing things around the house, how to grill chicken, and service to others. Juan’s children remember him as a great example of what a good man, father, and papa should be. Juan’s family will remember his love of fishing, the outdoors, barbecuing while listening to Tejano music, enjoying a cold beer, and spending time with his friends and family. Juan was the embodiment of what service to others should be. He volunteered his time to the Boy Scouts, St. Vincent de Paul, the Elks, St. Luke’s Church, and the Knights of Columbus. He was the first to volunteer his time whenever anyone was in need. The recitation of the Holy Rosary is scheduled to begin at 10:20 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6th at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Woodburn. No reception following due to lack of available space. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Juan’s life. Condolences can be sent to www.ungerfuneralchapel.com.
