James “Jimmy” Jessen was born October 26, 1938 in Salem, MO, to the late Edward & Irene Major Jessen. He entered his eternal home in Rolla MO, on March 30, 2020 at the age of 81. Jimmy was never married, but was a parent to his nieces and nephews. He never missed a ball game or a event of his family. His family meant the most to him. Jimmy served in the National Guard in Salem for many years. Going to horse shows, riding horses, going to sale barns you would see Jimmy. Going to auctions was another favorite hobby he enjoyed. Jimmy worked at International Shoe later he worked at Amax lead Company where he retired for a while, then went back to work at the charcoal plant, finishing up at Walmart. He always gave it his all in all that he done. Jimmy is survived by brothers; Clark Jessen & wife Mary Ann, Vivian Biele & husband Dave, Ken Jessen & wife Brenda, Dee Jessen & wife Maria all of Salem, MO. Nieces & Nephews; Carol Akers, Candace Barnes, Dana Dean, Ross Dean, Jerry Adkins, Matthew, Morgan, Marcus, Monica, Chris, Stacey Jessen, and Sara Jones. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by nieces;Cathy Bettigrew, Jeanie Whitaker, Leslie VanMeter. Graveside services will be held Sunday April 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM at North Lawn Cemetery, Visitation will be held from 1:00 until service time of 2:00 at cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Salem Senior Center.
