Obituary James J. “Dutch” Hunsberger, age 83, of Kendallville and formerly of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Mishawaka on October 14, 1936, to the late Forrest and Aletha (McIntire) Hunsberger. Dutch married Genney Lou (McGinnis) “Pepper” Hunsberger and they shared 37 years of marriage together before her passing on November 14, 2019. He was retired from Chrysler where he worked for many years in production. Dutch and Pepper owned and operated a transportation company for many years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Dutch is survived by his three daughters, Cindy (Danny) Hunsberger Burton, Lisa Hunsberger Futrell, and Loralyn (Raymon) Hunsberger Edwards; sister Linda Hunsberger Pickering; five step-children, Rebecca, Rene, Robert, Andy, and Ronnie; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Aletha Hunsberger; wife Genney Hunsberger; four brothers, Myron, Forrest Jr., Larry, and Willis Hunsberger. Cremation will take place and a graveside service to honor Dutch will take place at a future date in Elwood City Cemetery.
