Obituary Hermenegilda Rodriguez Echevarria, 85 of New Haven died peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2020 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Juan Echevarria. Hermenegilda was born in Hatillo, Puerto Rico on April 13, 1935, a daughter of the late Alberto Rodriguez and the late Aurelia Adorno, and had resided in New Haven for the past fifty one years. She was a long-time member of Door of Salvation Christian Church, (Iglesia Cristiana Puerta de Salvacíon) of New Haven. Hermenegilda is survived by two daughters, Maria Echevarria of West Haven and Ivette (John) Clegg of Middletown, four sons, Angel Luís Echevarria and Hector Juan Echevarria of New Haven, Nelson (Tamar) Echevarria of Lakeland, FL and Edison (Omayra) Echevarria of West Haven, one sister, Juanita Velázquez of West Haven, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Hermenegilda’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 18th at Door of Salvation Christian Church, 3 Arch St., New Haven from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services and burial will take place at a later date in Miami, Florida.
