George Stinson Brownell III, 77 of Rush County, passed away on March 16, 2020 in Muncie. He was born on March 31, 1942 in New Castle, IN to the late George and Marjorie A. (Hill) Brownell. Stinson was a 1960 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1961-1966 as a navigator on the USS Washburn. Stinson came back to farm in Rush County in the late 70’s. Stinson is survived by his loving sons, Chris (Shelly) Brownell of Pendleton and Stinson Brownell IV of Hamilton, OH; grandchildren, Drew Brownell, Brad Brownell, Landon Brownell, and Taylor (Kaleb) McCracken; siblings, Bonnie Montgomery of Laguna Beach, CA; John (Jeanette Brownell) of Lancaster, CA; and Rita Reid of Brownsburg, IN. George is preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Tandi Brownell. Celebration of Life will be at Chris & Shelly’s home on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at 2 PM.
