Deborah’s Obituary Deborah R. Morrow, age 67 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2020 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood surrounded by her family after an extended illness. She was born August 28, 1952 in Tipton, the daughter of Orville E. and Margaret Irene (Wilkerson) Jones. Deb married her soulmate, David E. Morrow, on September 13, 1968, and they shared over 51 years of marriage together. She attended Frankton schools and later graduated in 1979 from Elwood Community High School after starting her family. Deb worked at Red Gold in Elwood as an inventory supervisor for 3 years before retirement in 2003. Before that, she worked at Paint and Assembly Co. (PAC) in Elwood as a shipping supervisor for 17 years. Following retirement, Deb was a devoted volunteer for the Elwood YMCA Pre-school program for many years. She adored her family and loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Nan” as did many others. She loved attending and supporting all of her grandchildren’s sports and activities, and was also formerly a room-mother when her children were in grade school. Through the years, Deb loved going to concerts – especially to see her favorite musician, Bob Segar; and she always enjoyed a good margarita. Deb and Dave enjoyed traveling with family members on several memorable trips around the country, including the Smokey Mountains and trips to their family cabin on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky. As the matriarch of her large family, Deb will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Deb’s family includes two daughters, Angie (husband Jeff) Haymaker of Key West, FL and Amie (husband Mike) Bell of Elwood; 5 siblings, Robert (wife Dolly) Wilkerson of Kokomo, Wanda (husband Steve) Wunder of Greentown, Bess DeBolt of Fairfield Glades, TN, Ben (wife Kathy) Jones of Elwood, and Steve “Yank” Jones of Elwood; 8 grandchildren, Jordan Overdorf, Elizabeth Overdorf, Jaylen Tunnell, Jackson Tunnell, Jarren Tunnell, Jacob Bell, Jensen “Woo” Bell, and Jordan Haymaker; extended in-laws, Vicki Lumsdon, Jim (wife Deb) Morrow, Billy (wife Veronica) Sullivan, Deb (husband Art) Humphrey, George (wife Brenda) Sullivan, Mark (wife Rhonda) Sullivan, and Becky (husband Bill) Walters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Deb was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Annie Jones; two brothers, Jay Jones and Ron Jones; son-in-law, David Tunnell; and brother-in-law, David DeBolt. A funeral service celebrating Deb’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner and Rev. Ben Capshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Windfall. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to a new fund for Elwood Schools to be established at Madison County Federal Credit Union so that no student goes without a hot lunch at school in the future.
