Obituary David Kenneth “Dave” Wood, age 82 of Rivers Ridge Dr. passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at his residence. He was born September 17, 1937 in Illinois, to the late Samuel K. and Beatrice S. Wood. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed racing cars, especially his Corvettes. Dave was a retired field engineer with Honeywell. Survivors include his sister, Betsy Dyro (Joe); nieces, Carolyn Dyro and Laura Kennedy; nephew, Peter Dyro; grandsons, Cooper Mosteller-York, Parker Mosteller-York, Paxton Mosteller-York; and special friends, Beth York, Shannon Mosteller, and Becky Wood. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 3:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Mark Poe officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Cherryville American Legion Post #100 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 800 N. Pink St. Cherryville, NC 28021 or American Legion Post #100, 215 N. Pink St. Cherryville, NC 28021.
