Claudia’s Obituary Claudia Jean Middleton, 82, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 16, 2020 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family. Born in Connersville, IN where she lived on the farm with her parents, the late George and Thelma Plummer, she attended Orange High School and later worked for the General Telephone Company. As an independent woman working for the phone company, she transferred to Fort Wayne, Indiana where her effervescent personality caught the attention of her future husband, Jerry, while staying at his grandmother’s boarding house. They enjoyed many blessings during their 41 years of marriage which included two daughters. She retired from customer service with Fuji Film. A woman of strong faith, she enjoyed a full and active life that included her love of gardening, baking, being a member of Trier Ridge Community Church and spending time with her family and friends. Her amazingly beautiful smile and spunky attitude were enjoyed by all who had the good fortune to meet her. Her greatest joy came from eating ice cream and spending time with Lily and Harper, her great granddaughters. Claudia is survived by daughters, Teresa “Terri” (Kent) Harman of New Haven and Tammy (Phil) Nation of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters, Georgia (Jim) Adam of Houston, Texas, Sharon DeMoss of Whitesville, North Carolina and Brenda Plummer of Sugarland, Texas, grand daughters Andrea (Tommy) Branstrator of Grabill and Amanda (Kameron Phillips) Reuille of Monroeville; and two great granddaughters, Lillian and Harper. Claudia was proceeded in death by her husband, Thomas “Jerry” Middleton, in 2005. Private Family Services were held. A celebration of Claudia’s Life will be announced at a later date.
