Clarence “Jr” Harris, retired truck driver, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 in his home at the age of 93 years. The son of the late Clarence Lawrence Harris, Sr., and Ethel Williams Harris, Clarence Jr. was born on Sept. 12, 1926 in Cushing, Oklahoma where he was raised and educated. He was united in marriage to Betty Sue Johnson on October 21, 1950 in Park Hill, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Cushing, where they raised their three children, Franklin Joseph, Jeffrey Lyn and… David Lee. Betty preceded him in death on December 20, 2017. Jr. worked for many years for the Lionel Harris Oil Company prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his Country from 1944 until 1946. He was a longtime member of the Council Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and going to auctions. He is survived by two sons, Jeffery Harris of Yale and David Harris of Stillwater; grandchildren, Travis Harris, Justin Harris, Virginia Chandonia and her husband Jeremy. Heath Harris and his wife Dixie, and Cord Harris and his wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Maddison, Paden, Jake, Ashley, Megan, Brayden, Maddox and Kymberly and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son Franklin Harris and one brother Lionel Harris. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Valley Baptist Church with Pastor George Knapp, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
