Billy Gene Denton July 11, 1929 – March 22, 2020 Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Shawnee resident, Billy Gene Denton, 90, died Sunday, March 22, 2020 at his home. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26 at Johnson Cemetery, with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating, under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. Billy was born 11 July, 1929 in Enid, Oklahoma to Cleo Denton & Mildred (Mendel) Wheaton. On September 4, 1956 he married Mary Alice Garner. He retired from the United States Army, after serving 20 years. He was also retired from TAFB, after 22 years. He enjoyed quilting and was a long time square dancer with the Shawnee Square 8’s. He was a Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Denton and Mildred Wheaton, his wife Mary, and a son-in-law, Dewey Ballard.
