Arthur “Papa”‘s Obituary “I made a vow I would never marry again because there is no girl like her.” These are the words of Arthur “Papa” S. Abramowski when talking about the Love of his life and Soulmate, his beloved wife, the late Cecelia (nee Olejniczak) Abramowski. Arthur, a World War II Army Veteran and member of the 9201st Transportation Service Unit as a Motor Vehicle Dispatcher Clerk, who received the American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal, passed away at Elderwood of Hamburg Skilled Nursing Facility, at the age of 100. A Sheet Metal Layout Specialist, Art started out at Bell Aircraft and then continued on to Westinghouse till retiring in 1982. He grew up on the East Side of Buffalo attending St. Stan’s, P.S. #58 and Peckham Boys Vocational H.S., later renamed Emerson High School. In his early years, he loved to draw Cartoon Characters, especially Popeye, on wood and then paint and cut them out, for his mother to display around their home. Besides his love of woodworking, he also enjoyed gardening of both flowers and vegetables and was best known for his great Tomatoes and Apple Trees. He was also a follower of the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and Braves sports teams but was a Super-Fan and the Biggest Supporter of the sports teams that his grand and great-grandchildren participated in. He was the loving Son of the late Clare (nee Sinicki) and the late Joseph Abramowski. The devoted father of Barbara (Charles) Burlow, Daniel (late Kathleen) Abramowski, and Darlene (David) Napora. Arthur was the proud Papa of Michael (Kim) Burlow and Mark (Tammy) Burlow, Michelle (Daniel) Dillon, Tracy (Clifton) Davis, Jessica (Christian) Colvin, Jonathan Napora and great Papa of Michael A. Burlow, Karah (FiancĂ©-Cory Cullen) Burlow, Mackenzie Burlow, Samantha Burlow, Daniel Dillon, Nicholas Dillon, Emma Dillon, Kailee Ortel and Carter Colvin. A devoted brother of late Edwin (late Virginia) Abramowski, late Raymond (late Angeline) Abramowski, late Amalia (late Joseph) Sendlak-Bernacki, late Alfred (late Alice) Abramowski, late Joseph (late Beatrice) Abramowski, late Grace (late Loran) Smith and late Daniel Abramowski. Due to the current health concerns, services with Military Honors will be held privately. Arthur was also a member of the Francis J. Donovan American Legion Post 1626, in Cheektowaga, New York for over 49 years.
