Arleen’s Obituary Arleen Elizabeth Houston (Koch), devoted daughter of Elizabeth “Betty” Urbanski (Mazon), passed away on March 17th, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was 76 years old. She was the mother of two daughters, Aidan Elizabeth Wagner (Houston) and Olivia Margaret Groesche (Houston), and a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, Alexandra, Charlotte, Tabitha, Dominic, Sofia. And godmother to Alexander Mazon. She was loved by her in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Arleen was born in Chicago on March 29, 1943 She graduated from Chicago Vocational High School and worked in downtown Chicago, and later at US Steel with one of the first waves of female welders. Arleen had a fiery spirit, and showed it everywhere she went. She was confident and humorous, and made the room shake with her sarcasm and quips. She loved to travel, and went on frequent trips with her family and friends. Arleen would never pass up a good meal with her loved ones, and was always up for a sweet treat. Arleen loved to read, and had a fondness for the library. She was extremely social, and made friends everywhere she went. She adored her cat, Henry, and took care of him until the end. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family. Private services were entrusted to LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, Indiana 46324.
