Obituary Lynne Parlier Cox, age 66 of West Jefferson, died on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mrs. Cox was born on April 21, 1953 in Ashe County to Marvin and Paralee Owen Parlier. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ruth Boyte. Mrs. Cox was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She was always a help to anyone. She was a master craftsperson and hobbyist and was the owner and operator of Blueberry Hill Gift Shop. She loved her family and all her grandchildren. Mrs. Cox is survived by: her husband, Wayland Cox; two sons, Greg Cox and wife Beth of Fleetwood, and Andrew Cox and wife Laura of West Jefferson; one daughter, Amy White and husband Adam of Durham; two sisters, Oretta Blevins of Lansing and Janet Boyte of Carthage; six grandchildren, Sophia Cox, Elliott Cox, Addison White, Leah Cox, Ava Cox, and Archer White; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Steve Leashomb. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. The family respectfully requests no food or flowers please.
