  1. Rex was among my best and closest friends. He had a big heart and seemed to always know when someone needed some help, and he rarely would turn down an opportunity to help others. He loved life, and he loved to learn new things. Although he had very little formal education, he was among the wisest men I knew. He had more experiences in life than anyone I knew and shared his experiences good or bad so that others could learn from them. He always was encouraging any youth he came in contact with to get as good an education as they could, and to learn a trade, any new skill or talents when you had an opportunity to, for you never knew when it would benefit you or allow you to help others. He loved animals, especially his greyhounds, his favorite dogs that he would rescue after they would be discarded from owners that raced them. His favorite work and past time was working with wood. He was someone that got paid for doing what he loved, and when he didn’t have a job for a customer, he would do make things for family friends of just so scaps of wood didn’t go to waste. I truly think life lost a lot of meaning for him when he could no longer work in his shop

    • Hi Brent, Thank you for your words. Rex is my Uncle from my mothers side. I would love to hear more stories, any stories. I have photos from his younger days. Thanks Tammy Williams
