Lucila came to the United States of America in 1968 and then moved to Arizona in 1970. Lucila was preceded in death by her Husband, Agustin Bernal together they had 8 children, 26 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. Lucila Bernal was loved by many, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren think of her as the matriarch of the family. In her younger years while raising her children and grandchildren and married 57 years to the love of her life, Agustin; they worked long hours to provide the American Dream to their family. Lucila continued to work for many years all while maintaining a home for her family. Her children witnessed a woman of faith who loved her God, always reading prayers from her daily prayer book, a strong woman she was. She knew no limitations of hard work in raising a family and creating a home. She demonstrated a selfless and sacrificing love, a compassionate heart for others, and a tenacity that carried her through life. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren know her as a Nana with “spunk” always making sure “the grey hairs” weren’t visible and the eyeliner, lip stick, and perfume were all on “point.” All along while demonstrating her love to them. Lucila’s spirit for those in need, the less fortunate, her faith in God, her love for her late husband, love for her children, grandchildren And great grandchildren maintained her in life, particularly after Agustin’s passing. In her end days Lucila’s devotion and love to her faith was evident by her continued prayer readings, participating weekly in sacramental communion at her bedside. Lucila was proudest of the family she and Agustin created and the “American Dream” she and Agustin gave the family. Rest In Peace beautiful Angel as you now are reunited with your eternal love Agustin. SERVICES Wake Thursday, January 16, 2020 5:00 PM Desert Valley Mortuary Chapel 138 N.
