Leander’s Obituary Leander “Rocky” Keith, Jr., 66, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 in McAlester. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Mount Triumph Baptist Church with Pastor Anthony Washington officiating. The burial will follow at North Town Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Frazier, Bobby Johnson, Michael Redway, Jr., Josh Carney, Richard Rushing, and Steve Johnson. Flower bearers will be Donna Smith, Tonya Redway, Marian Black, Leona Ellis, Tayana Redway, Glenda Eubanks, Alice McIntosh and Teresa Harrison. Leander, Jr. was born on February 22, 1953 to Leander Keith, Sr. and Christine (Johnson) Keith in McAlester, Oklahoma. He graduated McAlester High School with the Class of 1971 and then attend Langston University. He is survived by his mother, Christine (Johnson) Keith of McAlester; his children: Sonya Brown, Barry Curtis, LaCoyia Curtis, Leandrea Curtis, Kasaundra Curtis, Alena Hurte (Tower), Brittney Young (Lee), and De’ja Curtis; his grandchildren: Ladatron Henson, Tremesha Lott, La’Nhiyah Curtis, Syrus Curtis, Izaya Curtis, Kyla Walker, Ayvah Hurte, Cahrvohn Hurte, Cyvonn Hurte, Royce Abbey, Brylei Young and Harley Abbey; his sister: Linda Young; his brothers, Elvis Keith and Ricky Factory; nieces: Tonya Redway (Michael) and Shaneika Ellis; nephews: Bryan Johnson (Andrea), Yantis Young (Danelle), Brandon Young (Charlsie), and Chad Young; special friend: Wanda Bumphus; his aunt: Mary Factory and other family and a host of friends.
