Joetta “Sandy” Morris, 72, of Bunker Hill, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility. Born September 5, 1947 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Evans and Hazel Frazier Evans. She was the owner of Sandy’s Painting. She loved old country music and the oldies. She is survived by one son, Joseph “Richie” Morris Jr. and wife, Denta; one daughter, Christie Morris and husband, Michael Butts; seven grandchildren, Heather, Katie, Brady, Reese Morris, Denielle, Allicia and Jacquelyn Cloud; five great-grandchildren, and one on the way; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Boykin and Josie Kerns; Many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Wendy Beverley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Richard Morris Sr.; one son, Travis Richard Morris; two brothers, Joseph Evans Jr. and Mark Stevens Evans Jr.; and two sisters, Sylvia Taylor and Tona Long. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 5:30 PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, with family receiving two hours prior to service from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
