Bret Bender, 51, of Portage, Indiana passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020, at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, Indiana. He was born May 5, 1968, in Blue Island, IL the son of Gene and Barbara (Snedeker) Bender. Brett worked as a Security Guard for retail stores. He is survived by his son, Shea Bender; parents, Gene and Barbara Bender; brother, Sean (Cherry) Bender; sister, Michele Elliott; niece & nephew, Jenna & Colin Elliott.
