Glendine’s Obituary Sis. Glendine “Punkin’” Chapman Coleman, age 64, a native and resident of Jackson, AL was born December 14, 1954 to the parentage of the late Mr. S. T. Chapman and the late Mrs. Edna Mae Morris Chapman. She departed this life September 18, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, Mobile, AL. Sis. Coleman was a 1973 graduate of Coffeeville High School, Coffeeville, Alabama. Her passion was cosmetology, and after graduating with her degree from Alabama Southern Community College in Thomasville, Alabama, she became a licensed cosmetologist. Sis. Coleman retired as a clerk for Infirmary Home Health. She was a member of Thomasville Church of God in Christ, Thomasville, AL where she served as a usher. Affectionately known as “Punkin”, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, shopping, and of course, styling hair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Chapman Coates and three brothers, Curtis Chapman, Jimmy Chapman, and Kenneth Chapman. On February 28, 2019, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 14 years, Morgan Lamaurice Coleman. Wonderful memories will linger forever with her family; two loving and devoted daughters, Joann Pugh (Ernest) Winfield and Amanda Chapman (Otis Sr.) Bumpers, all of Jackson, AL; one step-son, Terrance (Tara Gates) Coleman of Thomasville, AL; three step-daughters, Dashiell (Kendrick) Jenkins of Vineland, AL; Renetha (Theodis) Files-Dent, and Andrea Coleman, both of Montgomery, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Otis Bumpers, Jr., Jordan Dent, Quendauris McCall, Tlaysia Coston, Da’Kendereous, Da’Kendria, and Kendrick Jenkins, Jr.; four brothers-in-law, Kenneth Coates of Jackson, AL; Finnoa Coleman of St. Louis, MO; Barraya (Rowena) Coleman of Columbus, OH, and James (Coleen) Coleman of Omar, FL; eight sisters-in-law, Hattie McGhee of Jackson, AL and Linda Chapman of Thomasville, AL; Elsie Draughn of Mechanicsville, MD; Thelma Johnson of Columbus, OH, Marian Manor of Jacksonville, FL; Jane Coleman, and Mattie (Roderick) Bradley, both of Tuscaloosa, AL; and Marvia (Richard) Tait of Lower Peachtree, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; three devoted, Carolyn Portis, Janice Franklin, and Ann Williams. Viewing was Sept. 23, 2019, 1-6pm at Andrews Funeral Home Chapel “A”, Viewing also Tues., Sept. 24, 2019, 10am until the 11am service at Church of God in Christ Thomasville, AL; Supt. Jimmy Allen, pastor/eulogist. Following burial in the church cemetery, the family received friends in the dining hall of the church.
