Obituary Jo Anne Deller West Winfield Jo Anne Deller WEST WINFIELD – Jo Anne (nee Dauchy) Deller, age 75, quietly entered Paradise on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from her home. Jo Anne was born in Sidney, NY on June 23, 1944, the daughter of Walton T. and Evelyn M. (nee Mattison) Dauchy. She grew up in Burlington Flats, NY where she enjoyed exploring the woods and creek, riding horses at her grandparents, and playing with the neighborhood kids. Jo Anne loved traveling and camping around the country with her parents and brothers. After high school, and amongst other endeavors, Jo Anne lived in Oneonta and worked at the State University College as a secretary before transitioning into helping to start the Data Processing Department on main frame computers. On January 7, 1968, Jo Anne was united in marriage to Russell C. Deller at the Burlington Flats Baptist Church. She worked at the West Winfield Post Office as a Clerk for over 30 years. However, Jo Anne would say that her most meaningful and important job that she ever had was being a good wife, mother, and grandmother. Jo Anne had an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed traveling, volunteering, experiencing nature, reading, displaying patriotism, learning about history, and cooking. She felt that it was important to try all sorts of things in life. Jo Anne loved creating a home and making occasions special. She was extremely proud of her family and delighted in their achievements. She relished being “Gramma Jo” to many friends and loved ones, including those from The Federated Church and The Root Farm. She adored being “Little Gramma” to her granddaughters. Jo Anne will always be remembered for her positive attitude, her kindness, and her smile. Jo Anne was a member of The Federated Church—working with the Sunday School and Food Bank, OES 418 and the General Winfield Scott-Ganowauges Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She participated in the West Winfield Library’s Book Club and enjoyed her swimming exercise group at the Sitrin Home. Jo Anne volunteered at The Root Farm, and worked with the horses which she loved. Through her involvement with all of these groups and organizations, Jo Anne developed many sweet and caring friendships which touched her heart immensely. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Russell; her daughters: Loralei Marr and Amy (Rodger) Pape; her son, Christopher Deller and her granddaughters: Noelle and Elise Pape. Jo Anne is further survived by her brothers: David (Kathryn) Dauchy, Robert Dauchy, and Walton F. Dauchy; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
