Ms. Gail Annette Kerr Whorton, age 62, of Rome passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at a local hospital. Ms. Whorton was born October 17,1957 in Rome, Ga.. She was the daughter of R.W. Kerr and Beatrice Twilley Kerr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Whorton Sr. She was a 1975 graduate of Spring Garden High School and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Centre, Al. Survivors include her son and daughter, Bobby Whorton Jr. and Amy (Michael Hall) Johnson both of Rome; parents, R.W. Kerr and Beatrice Twilley Kerr, grandchildren Nathan Whorton, Brittany Whorton, Robert Whorton, Hannah Whorton, Jonathan Johnson and Daniel Johnson; a great grandchild, Marley Whorton; a brother, Rickie Kerr, and a sister, Kathy (Tommy) Cherry, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. EST Monday, November 25, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church in Centre, Al. 35960 with the Rev. Doyle Kerr officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church cemetery, Centre, Al. Gail will lie instate at the church hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.EST on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
