Miles Harry Sonstegaard, age 95, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born July 5, 1924 in Langdon, North Dakota to Samuel and Ida (Baker) Sonstegaard. He is preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister; Mabel Sonstegaard, and brother Ivan Sonstegaard. Miles worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas for over 40 years. He was a long-time member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church and served as a greeter. He could often be found reading western novels, taking walks, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Loretta (Seller) Sonstegaard of Fayetteville, daughters; Barbara Hendrix and husband Sam of Vancouver, Washington, Judi Taylor and husband Phillip of Springfield, Missouri, sons; Paul Sonstegaard of Champaign, Illinois, Richard Sonstegaard and wife Linda of St. Augustine, Florida, grandchildren; Robert Hendrix and wife Mechelle, Leah Taylor, Elizabeth Sonstegaard, Rachel Sonstegaard, Zach Sonstegaard, Scott Cuyler Sonstegaard, Joshua Hemingway and his wife, Coleson Hemingway, Jordan Morin and husband Kurt, Grant Johnson and four great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Moore’s Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 7, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Rolling Hills Baptist Church with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
