Effie’s Obituary Effie Evada Green, age 98, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019, at the Middlesboro ARH Hospital in Middlesboro, KY. She was born on August 14, 1921, the daughter of the late Cornelius and Cora Belle Turner Gordon. She enjoyed sewing and making crafts and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Green; brothers, Junior Harvey (Lora) Gordon and Hugh Samuel (Evelyn) Gordon; and his step-children, Robert Green, Charles Estill Green, Mo Green, Curtis Green, Delphus Green and Irene Hutchinson. She is survived by her daughters, Reda Green and Jeanette (Paul) Blevins, of Middlesboro, KY; step-children, Carolyn Robertson of Winston Salem, NC, Hayden Ford Green of Alton, IL, Virginia Overton of Middlesboro, KY and Janell Robinson of Bristol, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Henry) Hawk, Shirley Blevins, of Nicholasville, KY, James Christopher (Shawna) Green of Lexington, KY and Alex Blevins of Middlesboro, KY; seven great-grandchildren; forty-five step great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. The family sends a special thanks to her niece and family, Katherine and George Rogers; Family Medical Clinic of Harrogate, Amedisys Home Health, Middlesboro ARH Hospital, Dr. Kaw, Dr. Laughter and Dr. Shanshal. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jeff Blevins, James Green, Roger Jones, James Burchfield, Don Cupp and Steve Metcalf. .
