Donald’s Obituary Memorial Services for Donald Wayne Owens will be held Thursday, October 31, 2019 in the Chapel of Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory, 108 Hardware Road Broussard, LA. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 AM until time of services at 12 PM. Donald Wayne Owens was born on April 7,1951 to the late Donald Hobson Owens and Syble Mary Owens in Pineville, LA. For the past 33 years he resided in Sarepta, LA, but recently relocated to New Iberia to be near family before his passing. Donald, known by most as either Don or Wayne, loved to fish and be outdoors. He also owned a 1972 Camaro that he enjoyed drag racing as a hobby. He took pride in the competition and his accomplishments on the track. Like most Louisiana men, Wayne loved to eat southern food while spending time with his friends and loved ones. However, spending time with his daughter was what he looked forward to and treasured the most. Wayne had a witty sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him. Wayne departed this life on October 28, 2019. He leaves behind one daughter to cherish his memory, Lindsey Nicole Owens. He is also survived by two sisters, Annette Louise Louviere and Dawn Spice. One brother, Grady (Billy) Owens and wife Beth as well as many nieces, nephews and very close friends that loved him dearly. Donald Wayne Owens is preceded in death by his father, Donald Hobson Owens and mother, Syble Mary Owens; his two brothers, Bobby Forrester and Danny Forrester as well as his sister Frances McGlothlan.
